Discover new GTA V vehicles in the code

Since the GTA V rumor mill actually relies on snippets of information players mine from the game’s code, this story should come as no surprise. From an experienced GTA V data miner, it appears that references to 12 new cars have been spotted in the game code since the 1.28 update.

Aside from the bug fixes and new content we players see in each update, most of the update content happens behind the scenes. These patches not only bring changes themselves, but also prepare the game and code for the next update. Each GTA V content update has an identifier used in the code, which is basically a programming shorthand. Ill-Gotten Gains Parts I and II are codenamed “LUXE” because the theme of the DLC is luxury. These new cars were found to be associated with new codenames for the yet-to-be-announced updates. This new codename is “LOW”, possibly referring to the style of vehicles we’ll see, specifically the “lowrider” themed cars. Another theory is that Rockstar is gearing up for something diametrically opposed to Ill-Gotten Gains and will release something akin to “lowlife” DLC. Both theories seem logical. Based on Rockstar’s focus on clothing, tattoos, and weapon sculpting, we can customize our characters to the extreme, so if the Lowrider DLC will add hydraulics, DIY pain relief, spinning rims, etc. in GTA Online, we can personalize ours Vehicles reach a similar level.

On the other hand, the Lowlife DLC, which caters to tighter budgets, will also be welcome after an illicit gain update in GTA Online drained everyone’s coffers. If you look at the list of cars that will be added, this seems like the more likely option, as we’ll see some cheap rides returning from previous games.
