Dozens of GTA 6 development videos have leaked online

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated game of the late century. It’s also about to be the most leaked game.

The original source of the GTA 6 leak is currently seeking to negotiate a deal with Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games.

The video game community woke up Sunday morning in anticipation of a relatively quiet weekend with occasional game leaks. But, to everyone’s surprise, a hacker has given us all the shock of a lifetime after dozens of videos of what are thought to be footage in development for GTA 6 found their way online.

Here’s what the original source at GTAForums said:

Here are 90 shots/cuts from GTA 6.

I may leak more data soon, GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 beta.

Those involved spent hours answering questions from skeptical users. Hackers are more than happy to prove the legitimacy of leaked GTA 6 footage and images. The source later asked anyone at Rockstar Games and/or Take-Two Interactive to contact them. Hackers are believed to have attempted to extort Rockstar by threatening to reveal more GTA 5 and 6 information.

TLDR; this isn’t your average whistleblower — it’s a crime.

We wish the folks at Rockstar Games all the best.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who previously leaked information on GTA 6’s heroines, just took to Twitter to explain the seriousness of the situation. Others also joined the discussion with others in the video game industry, expressing their heartfelt feelings about what’s going on at Rockstar Games. Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann shares some inspirational words for those “affected by the latest leak”.

Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have officially acknowledged the data breach, but the latter has begun the long and arduous (if not pointless) process of trying to DMCA everything uploaded to the internet.

GTA 6 was officially confirmed earlier this year. Take-Two has zero sprint plans for Rockstar, but it does believe GTA 6 will “set the creative benchmark”. Rockstar’s recent recruiting plans are thought to be for GTA 6.
