While GTA Online developers may be looking forward to the future of this hugely successful online multiplayer offshoot, leakers have been busy digging up more information about the next entry in the best-selling video game franchise. In particular, one insider appears to have unearthed valuable information about an upcoming game.

TLDR; Rockstar Games wants to release GTA 6 soon.

As spotted by Dexerto, Tez2 claims that GTA 6’s original deadline, “designed to always change rather than remain static,” was “holiday 2024.” Unfortunately, things have changed in recent years, and the studio may be delaying GTA 6 until early 2025. The good news is that Rockstar is implementing a “mandatory return to the office” policy for its employees. According to insiders, it will give Rockstar more manpower to work on the project, despite the controversy. So, based on earlier leaks, Rockstar may officially release GTA 6 later this year. However, Tez2 was quick to remind fans that the move could cause the company to “lose working talent,” potentially delaying the game even further.

Additionally, Tez2 noted that Rockstar shouldn’t be delaying GTA 6 beyond holiday 2025, let alone 2026, which is surprising since it wasn’t listed as part of Take-Two Interactive’s plans through fiscal 2025.

It looks like Rockstar has no choice but to release DLC for GTA 6 in order to avoid delaying the game.

If it’s any consolation, the logic behind Tez2’s GTA 6 release date is sound. According to them, Rockstar may cut the content of the game and release it as DLC to meet the game’s current deadline.

Much depends on the next GTA game. While new content for GTA Online will help keep players informed, Rockstar can’t just keep teasing fans and expect them to stick around. Rockstar will eventually have to release GTA 6. It seems the developers would rather release an “incomplete” GTA 6 game than risk losing the mainstream spotlight after killing off Red Dead Online last year and taking too long.

At the end of the day, fans just want to hear more about the next GTA game. Unfortunately, all we can do now is re-examine last year’s leak and hope the game has progressed smoothly since then.

We just hope the DLC for GTA 6 is as good as the standalone game.

By the way, 50 Cent is definitely a part of the next GTA game after he deleted his teaser from his social media accounts without providing any explanation. Bryson Tiller’s sentence is still pending.
