Few games defined the gaming era of the 2000s more than Rockstar Games’ classic trinity Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. So fans could hardly contain their excitement when Rockstar Games confirmed that all three games would be re-released and remastered on modern platforms under the new title Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. But what should have been a happy launch was plagued by unresolved issues more than a year later.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is considered by many to be the best GTA game.

Having said that, there is nothing most GTA fans will enjoy more than playing the OG GTA games without having to buy them specifically from the Rockstar Store.

Now, fans won’t have to wait long to do just that, according to a trusted insider.

Billbill-kun, a Twitter user who has been accurately leaking information about PlayStation Plus for over a year, has claimed that Rockstar will release a remastered GTA trilogy at 4:00 PM UTC on January 19th for 50 % off sale first bundle for seven days.

The same source wasn’t able to fully confirm a Steam release, but we can only assume it’ll also be coming to Valve’s digital game distribution platform, unless Epic Games pays a hefty fee for exclusivity.

Gta Trilogy Remake Coming Soon Epic Games StoreSadly, Rockstar had to cancel their plans to remake Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4 due to the reported negative reception of the GTA trilogy.

Every game in the GTA Remake trilogy has sparked controversy. However, the makeover bundle has given the classic GTA game a notoriety that Rockstar probably wants to avoid at all costs. Every game is found to be full of bugs and issues. We later found out that Rockstar had pawned the project to Grove Street Games, which might explain the lack of polish.

It’s unclear if having the GTA Definitive Edition trilogy available on Steam and the Epic Games Store will make it run any better, but it probably won’t hurt.
