Upcoming Vehicles in GTA Online
GTA Online received its latest major DLC update yesterday in the form of Cunning Stunts, a brand new racing experience.
Cunning Stunts pits players against each other in reality-defying matches above the Los Santos skyline. The new stunt track is made up of crazy jumps, loops, wall hangings and all kinds of hard-working traps that might take you straight out of the race.
Of course, when you have an update about racing, you can’t do it without some new rides to show – 13 new rides to be exact. The list includes supercars, sports cars, bikes, muscle cars, and more, making the desire for more garage space for car enthusiasts all the more valid.
Rockstar has also added 16 maps of their own stunt races to get you through until August 2, as the promised Content Creator overhaul won’t be released until then. GTA Online players were a little frustrated by this, but nothing that was added was too much of a tragedy anyway.
Plus, in case all this new stuff doesn’t last until Stunt Race Creator is released, there are always premium races out there for you to put your teeth (and money) into. They have limited availability and are only recommended for the most skilled racers. Why?
simple. Only the first place gets a monetary reward, but it’s a hell of a reward. Then again, if you have some spare cash but are hurting because of some RP, go for it, as all participants will get triple the RP of the regular game.
Rockstar isn’t taking chances, though, so if that’s not enough, don’t worry, as more content will be released between now and the 2nd. This includes new tracks and, most importantly, new cars!
Back to the title of this post…
The PC community is a hard-working bunch who have discovered that some of the aforementioned vehicles are technically already in GTA Online, but locked. However, with a bit of virtual elbow grease, they’ve managed to dig out their name, and even load the model into the game engine for a sneak peek.
A total of five new vehicles have been released so far, including two sports cars, a truck, a bike and a large pickup. All of them have since been loaded up to show off their in-game looks and uniforms. One vehicle is a return variant, while the other vehicles are originals.
Starting off with returning players, the Drift Tampa is a variation of the beloved muscle car, designed for racing and stunts, with a spoiler, hood vented engine exhaust and some body mods to make it differentiated from the base model.
Next up is the Lynx, which appears to be based on Aston Martin, which will also be added to the Sport category. The Cliffhanger is a new two-wheeler added to the game that looks very bulky and sturdy, like a bike that can take a few heavy falls and keep going.
The contender is the new pickup, probably a 4×4. Despite the Cunning Stunts theme, this doesn’t look like something you’re going to be competing in. This ride has an optional bed cover as well as a plain looking front cage.
Finally, the most unique is the rally truck, which looks like someone cut a brick in half and painted it red. We’re not sure what functionality this thing will have, but hopefully it’s as useful as its real-life counterpart.
We don’t have any info on their stats, specs, or prices, or when they’ll unlock, but you can be sure to see them speeding by in GTA Online ahead of August 2nd.
Some of these will likely be released with some new Stunt Race maps to round out the current roster of 16. While these are the only rides revealed through snooping the files, there may be more rides on the way that have yet to be discovered by players.
What new GTA Online rides are you looking forward to?
